The XMax has the larger battery giving longer range. Furo provided me with a modification to the software that gave me intermediate pedal assistance levels so the bike now has 9 levels giving smoother startup. At the age of 82 and with painful knees I am no longer confident (or comfortable) on two wheels. The bike has been completely reliable, the battery holds it charge very well and, at a total weight of 15KG it lifts easily into the car when folded.
